K J Somaiya Institute of Dharma Studies has played a pioneering role in the areas of religious studies and Indian culture in Maharashtra. It is a unique institution, set up in line with the founding principles of Somaiya Vidyavihar University, where we offer programmes that look to the future while also providing students a firm foothold in the knowledge of the rich traditions of our past. The institution has recently launched the first master’s programme in this field of China Studies in the city, curated by senior faculty from India and abroad. Modern China, with a focus on any of the social disciplines such as economics, politics, international relations, and history. Chinese language proficiency is essential. OR Ancient China, with a focus on ancient India-China contact, trade, and transmission of Buddhism. Working knowledge of Classical Chinese is highly desirable. |
