Note:

  • Library Deposit and Caution Money Deposit are refundable after the completion of the programme or in case of cancellation of admission.
  • In addition to the above fees, a candidate needs to pay towards insurance fees at actuals. (Approx. Rs. 125/-)
  • There will be an increase of 8% in the annual fees for the subsequent years of study for those students who are admitted in the F.Y.B.Tech in Academic Year 2023-24.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for application
  • Passed HSC or its equivalent examination from India, with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects (Chemistry/Biotechnology/ Biology/Technical Vocational subjects) and obtained at least 45% marks in the above subjects taken together
  • And
  • The candidate should have appeared for Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) 2022/March 2023/May 2023, JEE-Main (Session 1 and 2), Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2023, MHT-CET 2023, and PERA-CET May 2023 and should obtain a non-zero score in this qualifying examination
  • Any other criterion declared from time to time by the Admitting Authority - Somaiya Vidyavihar University.

Admission Process

Step
1

Candidates (pursuing HSC 2023 /completed HSC in 2022 or before) willing to pursue B. Tech degree can submit the online preadmission form available on college website https://admissions.somaiya.edu with payment of non-refundable/ non-transferable application fees Rs. 2000/-

2

Admission process will be carried out in different phases and rounds based on different entrance examinations: Phases: 1- SAT 2022/2023 / 2-JEE Main Session (Jan-Feb 2023) / 3-JEE Main Session-2 (April 2023)/ 4 -PERA-CET 2023/5- MHT-CET 2023/6-CUET 2023. Visit important dates section on college website for schedule of phases/rounds.

Candidates can apply any one or more than one phases/rounds within the same pre-application (selecting appropriate options in your dashboard) based entrance examinations using the login credentials (registered email and password).

A provisional seat offered or not offered (based on the merit, programme preference and availability of seats taken together) will be communicated via registered email.

PERA CET website

Important Instructions

  1. Resident Indians : A candidate of Indian origin; who ordinarily is a resident of India, is eligible to apply under this category. Such a candidate may also apply under NRI sponsor Category, if he/ she is satisfying the criteria (mentioned in NRI/ NRI sponsor/ PIO (OCI)/ FN category). A candidate has to apply  separately for each round for all phases. 
  2. A provisional seat will be offered to a candidate based on the merit, branch of preference and availability of seats; all taken together. Details of the seat offered will be communicated to the said candidate via registered email.
  3. A candidate who is offered a provisional seat needs to pay a requisite amount on or before the last date as mentioned in the admission schedule (i.e. deadline), to secure the offered seat.
  4. Candidates who do not pay the requisite amount as per the deadline may lose his/her claim on the offered seat during that phase/round.
  5. Provisional admission needs to be confirmed within eight working days of declaration of result of H.S.C. or equivalent examinations, by paying balance fees.
  6. In case, if the result of H.S.C. or equivalent examination is declared prior to seat allotment / payment of fees (in any of the phases/rounds) whichever is earlier, and the candidate satisfies the eligibility criteria, then the allotted seat will be treated as final seat instead of the provisional seat and the candidate needs to confirm the seat by paying full/balance fees as is applicable.
  7. A candidate who has been allotted a provisional/ confirmed seat as per his/her first choice, and fails to secure the same within the deadline, his/her candidature will not be considered in further rounds of that phase.
  8. A candidate who has applied for more than one phases will be eligible to participate in subsequent phases even after he/she has secured his/her seat in earlier phases.
  9.  No processing fee is applicable if up-gradation/betterment of seat is offered/ allotted within the same phase or in subsequent phases. 
  10. At any point of time, candidates will not be permitted to hold two seats offered in two different phases / rounds in K J Somaiya Engineering College. Candidate has to forgo one of the seats which is offered to him / her while confirming the other.
  11. The schedule of admissions in any of the phases and / or rounds may change under unavoidable circumstances or as per directive or instructions from admitting authorities of Somaiya Vidyavihar University. Under such situations, the revised schedule will be updated on the website of the college.

  • Allotment Letter issued by K J Somaiya College of Engineering for admission to First Year B. Tech. in Academic year 2023-24.
  • Scorecard for at least one of the following: Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) 2022/March 2023/May 2023, JEE-Main (Session 1 and 2), Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2023, MHT-CET 2023, and PERA-CET May 2023
  • Mark list for HSC or Equivalent examination (Self attested copy).
  • Mark list for S.S.C. or Equivalent examination (Self attested copy).
  • Leaving Certificate from the last attended institution (Self attested copy).
  • Caste Certificate, Caste Validity, if candidate belongs to reserve category under SC/ST/OBC /VJ-NT (Self attested copy).
  • Aadhaar Card, Two passport size Photographs of the candidate.
  • Maharashtra State Domicile Certificate.
  • Indian Nationality Certificate (If not mentioned on the Leaving Certificate).
  • Gap Certificate/ Affidavit (if HSC passed before/prior to Academic Year 2022-23).
  • Equivalence Certificate / Migration Certificate of Concern Board (if student passed HSC from other than Maharashtra Board).
  • Medical fitness certificate also indicating the blood group issued by registered medical practitioner.

Note : Applicable for only Gujarati Linguistic Minority Candidate

Minority

  • Self declaration of the candidate in specified format (“Gujarati Linguistic Minority Community Students Self Declaration” proforma)
  • And
  • Certificate from respective community/ samaj stating that they belong to the Gujarati Speaking Community.
  • Affidavit
    Annexure 1 -Candidate who has completed 18 years of age while making the Affidavit
  • Annexure 2-Candidate who has not completed 18 years of age while making the Affidavit

Note : Applicable for only Person with disability candidate.

  • A candidate should have a respective disability certificate from the competent authority issuing such certificate clearly state the disability is not less than 40% and disability is permanent in nature.
  • Note : Applicable for only Sports Quota
  • Certificate issue by competent authorities in a sport competition at State/National /International competitions
  • Credential will be evaluated by Authorities of SVU.

For Non-Resident Indian & Other students

  • Eligibility certificate from Association of Universities (AIU) New Delhi (if applicable)
  • Leaving Certificate from the last attended institution (Self attested copy)

  • Proof of NRI
    • A letter issued by an Indian embassy indicating NRI status of parent/ sponsor/ candidate
    • Certificate issued by the Indian Embassy indicating NRI status of Sponsor/ parent/ candidate
    • Off Shore Certificate issued by the organization (In case of ward of Merchant Navy)
  • Passport’s copy of parent/sponsor/ candidate
  • PIO (OCI) card copy (In case if the candidate is admitted under PIO(OCI) category).
