The Marine Robotics Team (TMRT) is the underwater robotics and offshore engineering team of the college. Our team was founded on 27th July 2017. We aim to build an “Autonomous Underwater Vehicle” which is capable of performing a set of tasks and making its own decisions based on a few algorithms like Deep Learning, etc. We aim to compete in various national and international competitions like DRUSE, SAUVC, RoboSub, SAUC-E and NIOT SAVe.

Team Onyx India is the official, student-run Aero Modelling Team of K. J. Somaiya College of Engineering, Mumbai, India. Having over a decade plus experience, Team Onyx has made a name for itself in the world of student aviation by competing in national and internationally renowned competitions like SAE Aero-design East, SAE-VIT, etc. The team also showcases their RC Aircraft at various events, apart from preparing for competitions, the team also conducts annual workshops teaching students about the basics of aviation and RC aircraft building.. The team aims to inspire students with the wonders of aero-modelling.

Team Eta is a student team that participates annually in the Shell Eco-Marathon. Shell Eco-marathon is one of the world’s leading energy efficiency competition programmes. Students are challenged to design, build and test energy-efficient cars, pushing the boundaries of what is technically possible. Students take their designs to the track in the Mileage Challenge to see which vehicle can compete to go the farthest on the least amount of fuel. 
Our vision is to build fuel efficient vehicle to combat current problems and create a sustainable future for coming generations.
We are Eta, a compassionate group of young engineers who believe in bringing a change to the traditional conventions followed in today's automobile industry leading to a carbon neutral Earth.

Team KJSCE Robocon is the official ABU Robocon team of KJSCE. We are a student run, non-profit robotics team operating from their workshop at Vidyavihar, Mumbai.
Under the supervision of K.J.Somaiya College of Engineering, We design, prototype, manufacture and run our robots to compete with other universities for ABU Robocon every year, organised by IIT D in Delhi. ABU Robocon competition encourages us to build different robots with different mechanisms every year from scratch involving contribution from all fields of engineering. Students not only get a golden opportunity to put their smarts in the various fields of engineering to use, but also learn how to manage a project of this size and work in a team to compete against the best and brightest students from across India.
Team KJSCE Robocon started its journey in 2010 and since then, it has come a long way from a hobby idea to a semi-professional project par excellence.

The Somaiya Space Research Project (SSRP) established 16th January 2024, is a new research oriented student driven mega project at KJ Somaiya College of Engineering. This is our ambitious endeavor to expand the horizons of space exploration. As a team of passionate students, we come together under one umbrella to pursue various research projects aimed at understanding the cosmos. Our collective goal is to develop and launch our very own satellite, the KJSCE StudentSAT, into space, collaborating with esteemed institutions like ISRO and space startups along the way. Apart from overseeing projects, we actively manage the Astronomical Society of KJSCE to promote awareness and engage in related activities. Additionally, we actively engage in prestigious competitions such as the Spaceport America International Rover Challenge and CANSAT, where we showcase our innovation and teamwork on a global stage. Through our dedication to exploration, innovation, and outreach, we are poised to make meaningful contributions to space research while embracing the challenges and growth that lie ahead.
