Eligibility Criteria for Direct Second Year B.Tech. 2022-23
Admissions are open to all the categories as mentioned below
Resident Indian Students
- Who
- Residents of Maharashtra (domicile)
- Gujarati Linguistic Minority (Refer GR on Minority)
- All other residents of Maharashtra
- All citizens of India
- Residents of Maharashtra (domicile)
- Eligibility for application
- Diploma Course in Engineering and Technology with at least 50 marks (at least 45% marks in case of Persons with Disability) in appropriate branch of Engineering and Technology from an All India Council for Technical Education or Central or State Government approved Institution or its equivalent

- Admissions are open to Second year B. Tech. programmes, for students from other colleges / Universities who have successfully completed their First year Engineering.
- Eligibility for application
- Admission will be offered only in the corresponding branch in which the student is enrolled in the parent institution, on the merit of the student in the First Year of Engineering. The concerned student should have passed First Year B.E./ B. Tech. without any backlog) from a University which is approved by UGC.
- Admissions are open for lateral entry to Second year B. Tech. programmes, for students from other colleges / Universities who have successfully completed their First year Engineering.
- Admission will be offered only in the corresponding branch in which the student is enrolled in the parent institution, on the merit of the student at First Year of Engineering. The concerned student should have passed First Year B.E / B. Tech (without any backlog) from a University which is approved by UGC.

Admission Process for Direct Second Year B.Tech. 2022-23
Step 1
A candidate will be eligible to apply if she/he has completed Diploma or First Year Engineering from another University (approved by UGC)
Application form fee is Rs. 2000/- which is neither refundable nor transferable under any circumstances.

Select appropriate eligibility criteria (Diploma branch/ First Year Engineering Branch)
Step 3
A provisional seat will be offered based on the merit, branch preference (only for Diploma holders) and availability of seats taken together.
Branch preference is not applicable for candidates who have completed First Year Engineering form another University (approved by UGC), as the candidates will be allowed to admit in the same branch of his/her First Year Engineering.
The candidate will be communicated via email about the seat offered to him / her.

Important Instructions for Direct Second Year B.Tech. 2022-23
- A provisional seat will be offered to a candidate who has completed his/her Diploma based on the merit, corresponding branch of Diploma, and availability of seats taken together. A provisional seat will be offered to a candidate who has completed his/her First Year Engineering from another university (approved by UGC), based on the merit, corresponding branch of First Year Engineering, and availability of seats taken together. Details of the seat offered will be communicated to the said candidate on his/her registered email id.
- A candidate who is offered a provisional seat needs to pay a requisite amount on or before the last date as mentioned in the admission schedule (i.e. deadline), to secure the offered seat.
- Candidates who do not pay the requisite amount as per the deadline will lose his/her claim on the offered seat during that round.
- For Admissions After Diploma : In case of up-gradation/ betterment in allied branch, the candidate has to pay processing fees of Rs.5000/- only (non-refundable).
- Branch preference is not applicable for candidates who have completed First Year Engineering form another University (approved by UGC), as the candidates will be allowed to admit in the same branch of his/her First Year Engineering.
- The schedule of admissions may change under unavoidable circumstances or as per directive or instructions from admitting authorities of Somaiya Vidyavihar University. Under such situations, the revised schedule will be updated on the website of the college.

- Allotment Letter issued by K J Somaiya College of Engineering for admission to Direct Second Year B. Tech. in Academic year 2022-23
- Mark list for All the semesters of Diploma or Equivalent examination
- Mark list for S.S.C. or Equivalent examination
- Leaving Certificate from the last attended institution
- Caste Certificate, Caste Validity if candidate belongs to reserve category under SC/ST/OBC /VJ-NT
- Declaration of the Candidate for the respective Gujarati Linguistic Minority candidate in Profarma “O”
- Affidavit for Gujarati Speaking Minority Community in the state of Maharashtra for Gujarati Linguistic Minority candidate
- Aadhaar Card, Two passport size Photographs of the candidate
- Maharashtra State Domicile Certificate
- Indian Nationality Certificate (If not mentioned on the Leaving Certificate)
- Gap Certificate/ Affidavit (if Diploma passed before prior to Academic Year 2021-22)
- Equivalence Certificate / Migration Certificate of Concern Board (if student passed Diploma from other than Maharashtra Board/Autonomous Institute)
- Medical fitness certificate also indicating the blood group issued by registered medical practitioner
- Note : Applicable for only Gujarati Linguistic Minority Candidate
- Self declaration of the candidate in specified format (“Gujarati Linguistic Minority Community Students Self Declaration” proforma) Download Form And
- Certificate from respective community/ samaj stating that they belong to the Gujarati Speaking Community.

- Note : Applicable for only Person With Disability Candidate
- A candidate should have a respective disability certificate from the competent authority issuing such certificate clearly state the disability is not less than 40% and disability is permanent in nature.
After completion of First Year Engineering
Following Original Certificates are required for admission in Second Year Engineering for the Academic Year 2022-2023.for those transferred from other institutions/Universities (approved by UGC).
- Allotment Letter issued by K J Somaiya College of Engineering for admission to Direct Second Year B. Tech. in Academic year 2022-23
- First Year Semester I and Semester II marksheet from previous college/University (approved by UGC).
- Official transcripts from college including semester I and Semester II marks and completion of first year course
- MHT-CET score card of 2021 or JEE score card 2021 on which admission is sought for First Year Engineering
- HSC or Equivalent Marksheet
- SSC or Equivalent Marksheet
- College Leaving certificate/ Bonafide certificate from the college. (Candidate has to submit the College Leaving certificate at the time of Verification of actual Admission).
- Declaration of the Candidate for the respective Gujrathi Linguistic Minority candidate in Profarma “O”
- Affidavit for Gujarati Speaking Minority Community in the state of Maharashtra for Gujrathi Linguistic Minority candidate
- Maharashtra State Domicile Certificate for Gujrathi linguistic Minority candidate
- Birth certificate or Domiclile certificate for Maharashtra Resident candidate
- Migration certificate from the University. (Candidate has to apply and get Migration certificate from their previous University and original certificate is required at the time of actual admission verification)
- Medical fitness certificate also indicating the blood group issued by registered medical practitioner

Note:
- Library Deposit and Caution Money Deposit are refundable after the completion of the programme or In case of Cancellation of Admission
- In addition to the above fees, a candidate needs to pay towards insurance fees at actuals. (Approx. Rs. 125/-)
- There will be an increase of 8% in the annual fees for the subsequent years of study for those students who are admitted in the S.Y.B.Tech in Academic Year 2022-23.
Cancellation policy for Direct Second Year B.Tech. 2022-23
