Minor in Mechatronics

The Programme designed gives an insight of sensors, actuators, PLC, System Interfacing, Data Acquisition, Robotics and Industry 4.0 that will help the students to have a good understanding and designing a Mechatronic system.
 

This program develops the knowledge, skills and confidence to create opportunities from ideas and to evaluate them. This program focuses on
1. Understand mechatronics and sensor based measurement systems
2. Design and develop a Pneumatic and hydraulic system for a given application
3. Design a Complete Mechatronic Product for a given application.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is an integral part of current robotic systems. This course introduces with rapid technological innovations of robotics and AI for a wide range of applications in manufacturing.

Objectives

The objectives of this minor program are to produce graduates who:
Have knowledge of all aspects of Mechatronics 
Will Understand industrial and societal needs in developing a Mechatronic product
Can undertake challenge of developing a complete turnkey Mechatronic product

Learning Outcomes

At the successful completion of this minor program an engineering graduates will be able to

  • LO1. Design and develop a Mechatronic system for a given real life application.
  • LO2. Aquitaine knowledge of various facets of Industry 4.0 and apply it in designing and developing a Mechatronic system.

Assessment Method

Tests, Mini projects, Laboratory, Presentation, Quiz, study of research papers etc.

Eligibility Criteria

Students who have passed the First Year of Engineering in Computer Engineering / Information Technology / Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering / Electronics & Computer Engineering /Artificial Intelligence & Data Science / Computer & Communication Engineering / Electronics Engineering / Robotics & Artificial Intelligence. 

Students of other constituent colleges of SVU passed the First Year of their degree program and have a background of engineering skill and manufacturing processes.
