Project 'COVID-19 Fake News Detector' was declared as winners in the 'COVID-19 Impact' category during the "e-Yantra Fighting COVID-19 Hackathon" conducted by IIT Bombay from 1st-10th April 2020.
Project "Covid-19 Fake News Detector" consists of a web application that classifies any news related to Covid-19 as 'Fake' or 'Genuine' as per the result predicted by the Machine Learning model, trained by a dataset that we scrapped from official news websites and media sources.
The team of the following 4 students of our college tried to develop a technology to curb the spread of fake news and misinformation related to COVID-19 on the digital media in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
