Mihir Bhanushali, Deesha Warang, Jash Sheth and Kush Savadia made a ground breaking achievement in designing India’s first UPI-based EV charging station integrated with Unified Payments Interface (UPI) apps like Google Pay or Paytm for seamless charging and avoid the need for separate wallet top-ups or third-party apps. This station ensures automatic refunds, upon completing a charging session which makes users need not worry about manual refund requests or discrepancies. These station adheres to international standards, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of EVs with High Capacity (32A) efficient charging for various EV models especially for longer-range EVs. The Open Charge Point Protocol streamlines management and monitoring by benefiting Centralized control, remote diagnostics, and scalability. Real-time communication ensuring reliable connectivity for status updates, diagnostics, and remote management. Users simply scan the QR code displayed on the station to start charging without any need for users to download additional apps or sign up for accounts. So, users don’t need to share personal information during app installations or account creation which makes fewer entry points for potential security breaches.
These EV Chargers have various safety features such as Over-Voltage Protection, Under-Voltage Protection, Overload Protection, Shortcircuit Protection, Leakage Protection, Over Temperature protection with the rated voltage of 230V and output current and power of 32A and 7.4kW.
By seamlessly integrating UPI transactions, ensuring compatibility, and prioritizing user privacy, these students have set a new standard. Their station not only charges electric vehicles but also charges our collective vision for a greener, more connected future.
