Professor in Operations and Logistics Supply

Job Description

Qualification:

  • Ph.D. in Operations Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field from reputed University/Institute.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postdoctoral research experience or significant industry experience in operations, logistics, or supply chain management.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies in supply chain management, such as Sustainability Supply Chain, AI, blockchain, IoT, or automation.
  • Active involvement in professional organizations and conferences related to operations and logistics.

Required Experience:

  • Proven teaching experience in operations management, logistics, or supply chain management at the postgraduate level.

  • A strong research record with publications in reputable journals related to operations, logistics, and supply chain.
  • Industry experience in operations or logistics management is highly desirable.
  • Experience in supervising postgraduate-level research projects or theses.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching:
    • Teach postgraduate courses in Operations Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, and related subjects such as Production Management, Inventory Management etc.
    • Develop and update course content, including syllabus, case studies, and assignments, integrating the latest industry trends and practices.
    • Develop innovative pedagogy to ensure impacts on diverse students.
  • Research:
    • Candidate should lead research in chosen domain resulting in high impact publications research grants and collaborations.
  • Professional Practice:
    • Build strong ties with industry partners and organizations to keep the curriculum relevant and provide students with opportunities for internships, guest lectures, and live projects.
    • Contribute to executive education programs and corporate training in operations and supply chain management.
    • Develop consultancies to apply own research to real-world challenges.
  • Service to the Institute:
    • Contribute to the academic and administrative responsibilities of the department, including curriculum review, accreditation processes, and faculty meetings.
    • Mentor and advise students on academic and career-related matters.
    • Serve on various departmental and institutional committees and contribute to the growth of the department and the institute.
  • Skills:
    • Strong expertise in operations and logistics management, including topics like supply chain optimization, procurement, production planning, inventory management, and transportation.
    • Proficiency in operations management software, supply chain analytics tools, and quantitative methods.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to design and deliver case-based, experiential, and interactive learning experiences.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
