Dr Siddappa S Bhusnoor, Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, K J Somaiya School of Engineering, Somaiya Vidyavihar University, said sustainability investments are becoming more viable in India due to policy support and favourable conditions. “With nearly 300 sunny days annually, solar systems can achieve payback periods of around four to six years, while water and waste management systems further strengthen the financial case for green campuses,” he said.
