Modern communication technologies consist of optical communication networks which transmit numerous data packets such as audio, emails, and visual data However, the safety and viability of the optical transmission path have always been questioned, as has the prospect of hacking the optical connection. In transparent optical networks, security is more complicated because the optical signals are not regenerated thus it is very complex to notice these attacks and seclude them without impacting the efficiency and performance of the entire system. As a result, proper security management systems must be included in optical networks to prevent data breaches, hostile assaults, or leakage of the internal information of the optical cable during transmission. As a result, this article discusses appropriate management and security methods that can be deployed to ensure the integrity of optical network communication systems.
